Aung San Suu Kyi. She was once thought to be an ambassador for human rights protection. Over the years, she has spent her life in detention against the military ruler of Myanmar in defense of democracy and human rights. Suu Kyi was also awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991 for her special contribution to the protection of democracy and human rights. On the day of the announcement of the Nobel Prize, the chairman of the noble committee called her "power of the powerless."
But in power she has completely changed the mood. She has no previous position for humanity. Suu Kyi, an icon of democracy at one time, has already been condemned around the world with silent support for the Myanmar army in the Rohingya genocide. This time, she appeared in the International Court of Justice for the crime of genocide.
Seventy three years old Suu Kyi was imprisoned most of the time
between the year of 1989 and 2010, ending the military rule in Myanmar and protecting democracy. As a result, she became a symbol of democracy and human rights in peaceful ways around the world. After a long 25 years, in 2015 her political party won the majority in the National League, elected from the National League for Democracy (NLD).However, the real victory came five more years after the day she was released from 15 years of house arrest. Suu Kyi became a part of the country's power when Myanmar began to walk the path of democracy through the election of 2015.
When Suu Kyi toured Western Europe in the 2016, she was adopted as a daughter of democracy. Her longtime supporters, the Westerners, thought she would use her powers and morals to cut down on the army. But as soon as she came to power, her actions changed.
For years by years, the Rohingya have been brutally brutalized against Muslim minorities by the army of Myanmar. The army has monitored the killing of people, the rape of women and young women, the arson of the entire community in two brutal nation-raid operations carried out between 2016 and 2017. As a result of this, at least 800000 Rohingya fled their homes and took shelter in Bangladesh. Suu Kyi did not protest against it, but instead took the stand for more troops.
Various countries in the world, including the UN, have been saying in secret that Myanmar has committed crimes against humanity in Rakhine province. There was evidence of his photographs in various media including Reuters.
But all have denied. The biggest proof is the eels of millions of people fleeing for fear of life. Those whose words come up are horrific details of indiscriminate killing, rape, burning and burning. Bangladesh has given shelter them to humanitarian causes. Myanmar did not allow the world to find out what happened in Rakhine. It did not lock the court door. Gambia, the smallest African country, has sued the United Nations Supreme Court. The hearing began on Tuesday.
Many believed that Myanmar would avoid this court as well. But there too the country is playing cunning plans. Suu Kyi is appearing in the court. She is fighting on behalf of the army accused of genocide.
There is a one-on-one meeting for Suu Kyi in the country. In view of these considerations, analysts say, Suu Kyi has decided to fight the United Nations court in order to take the political benefits. Suu Kiy's friends were surprised at such a decision. They say she is collecting more condemnation from all over the world. But its main purpose may be to consolidate its position within the country as a flag of democracy.
